About the Opportunity

Talon Metals is actively exploring land packages in Minnesota and Michigan, with a mission to discover and develop high-grade nickel deposits for the U.S. domestic supply chain. We're looking for driven individuals to join our year-round diamond core drilling operations.

Drill Helpers are assigned to specific project sites based on operational needs. Assignments may change as projects progress or new programs begin.

The schedule is two weeks on and one week off, working 12-hour shifts during the two-week rotation. Drill Helpers are responsible for arranging and reporting to the assigned project location at the start of each rotation.

Project locations are subject to change, and flexibility is essential. Candidates must be willing and able to travel to various job sites throughout Minnesota and Michigan as required.

No prior drilling experience is required—we provide full training.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Drill Foreman, your responsibilities will include:

  • Working safely and complying with all company and HSE policies
  • Supporting drill operations including site setup, mixing drill muds, and handling drill rods and core tubes
  • Removing core samples, labeling, and preserving orientation in core boxes
  • Performing routine equipment cleaning and site maintenance
  • Using and maintaining gas monitors and water/lubricant systems at the drill site
  • Verifying that all downhole materials are NSF-approved
  • Demonstrating mechanical aptitude for basic equipment handling and repair

What You’ll Bring

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs or more
  • A valid driver's license
  • Strong work ethic and a team-oriented mindset
  • No prior experience required training provided

Additional Requirements

  • Travel is required as part of this role
  • Successful completion of a background check
  • Passing a fitness-for-work physical assessment is mandatory prior to employment
