The Opportunity

Talon Metals is exploring our land packages in Minnesota and Michigan. Our team’s focus is to discover and develop high-grade nickel deposits in the United States for use in batteries. This is an opportunity to work as a member of a drilling team with the same crew and diamond core drill rig year-round. Travel may be required.

What the role entails
 
Reporting to the Drill Foreman duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Working safely following company policies and HSE regulations and procedures.
  • Assisting in all aspects of drill operations through safe, cost effective and professional practices including moving the drill from one set-up to another, setting casing and mixing drill muds.
  • Handling drill rods and core tubes skillfully and efficiently.
  • Removing core from tubes and placing and labelling core in core boxes in a manner that preserves original orientation.
  • Ensures that gas monitors are bump tested at the start of each shift and are utilized while drilling.
  • Maintain travel ways and walkways in a safe manner.
  • Cleaning equipment and keeping the work area clean and free of debris.
  • Maintaining water sources or sources of lubricants for the drill site.
  • Confirm that all products utilized for down hole tasks are NSF approved.
  • Mechanically inclined. 

 

What you will need for this role
 
To succeed in this role, you will:

  • Able to lift 50lbs or more
  • Have a Valid Driver's License
  • Enjoy working in a team
  • No experience needed; training provided
